Alzheimer’s disease occurs as a result of your brain cells being impaired, and eventually killed. This is partially cause by the buildup of toxic protein fragments called amyloid -beta. Green tea gets to the root of Alzheimer’s disease by three distinct mechanisms: preventing the formation of amyloid plaques, breaking down existing plaques, and creating critical new neurons in the brain.

As a result, the new green tea consumption has now been associated with a 54% reduction in the risk of developing cognitive decline.

Mayo Clinic on Aspirin

By: R.Scott Siewert, Health and Wellness Director

Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6a.m. and noon. Having one at night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Dr. Virend Somers and his colleagues have been working for decades to show sleep apnea is to blame.

  1. If you take an aspirin or baby aspirin once a day, take it at night. The reason: aspirin has a 24 hour “half life”; therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the aspirin would be strongest in your system.
  2. Aspirin last a really long time in your medicine-cabinet; for years. (When it gets old, it smells like vinegar).
  3. Why keep aspirin by your bedside? It’s about Heart Attacks there are other symptoms of a heart attack, besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating; however, these symptoms may occur less frequently. There may be No pain in the chest during a heart attack.

The majority of people (60%) who have heart attacks during their sleep did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pan may wake you up from a deep sleep. If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards: Call 911 – Phone a neighbor or family member who lives close by: Say “heart attack” – Say that you have taken two aspirin. Take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door and wait for their arrival.............… DO NOT LIE DOWN!

Defining a ‘ D ’ Deficiency as in Vitamin ‘ D ‘

Vitamin D is a steroid hormone that directly influences over 200 out of some 20,000 humane protein-coding genes and notably binds to a number of genes associated with autoimmune disease and cancer.

“You can’t achieve optimal health, athletic performance, or cognitive performance without adequate vitamin D levels. Vitamin D is a very powerful chemical in the human body”. Dr. Matthews says.

He strongly urges people to get their vitamin D levels checked on a regular basis, and he is careful to note that the government’s current level of vitamin D in the blood stream, with a lower level of 30ng/ml, is far too low. “For me anything in the 50 to 55 ng/ml range is where you want to be he says, all animals in nature are between 50 and 55 ng./ml in the wild, but once in captivity they drop. This happens in its own way to humans as well. When you’re admitted to the Intensive Care Unit or another hospital room, your vitamin D levels drops 50% in the first 24-48 hours. If you come into the hospital for testing or admitted with an already low vitamin D rating your risk of death increases by 30%. It is a serious problem. Since the government has been lagging on this issue, Dr. Matthews has taken it upon himself to educate officials and explain the science and importance of vitamin D. He also believes that the insurance companies are going to soon be all over the importance of the vitamin because it can prevent a lot of chronic injuries that otherwise plaque healthy people.
