Heritage Christian Women Connection Retreat 2014

The Women’s Retreat is getting better and better each year. If you were unable to attend this year’s event, you missed a chance to renew and refresh yourself in the Lord and spend time worshiping Him. We worshiped God together, sang together, laughed together and cried together. Everyone had a joyful day.

The “Men in the Kitchen” prepared all the delicious food that was served. We really appreciate them and their culinary skills. There were two breakout sessions, one before lunch and one after lunch. Each lady chose 2 classes.  “You Are Beautiful” with Amanda Stump, “The 5 Love Languages” with Lois Langenderfer and “Savvy Social Security Planning” with Pamela Miller Stankey. They were all outstanding sessions.

This event also had several speakers. The first speaker was Mary Stephens; Ministry Coordinator for the Church of God Christian Women Connection, Jaclyn Smith and Lynn Bryant from Heritage Church of God. Each woman spoke about different topics but it all tied together with the theme of the Women’s Retreat from Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He Hath made all things beautiful…in His Time”.

There was a drama performed by Jason Dick, Cardboard Testimonies and a “Purse-onality Fashion Show”. The music was performed by the Retreat Singers, Jennifer Long, Jeanie Langenderfer and Becky Totman.

It was a tremendous event. Everyone was touched by the Lord in one way or another. Why don’t you plan to be at the next Heritage Christian Women Connection Women’s Retreat, I guarantee you won’t regret it.

NJFS (Not Just For Seniors) Christmas Party 2013

On December 2, 2013 at Heritage Church of God the NJFS group celebrated Christmas together in the gymnasium and the Sanctuary at Church. The afternoon was a huge success.  The food was outstanding with the main courses prepared by the “Men in the Kitchen”. We celebrated with Christmas Carols, the Heritage Ringers and Alex Trebeck with Bible Jeopardy. Pastor Kujawski also read the Christmas Story with audience participation. Carol Kujawski reminded us in a poem of what begins in January….diets.

The NJFS group meets the first Monday of each month at Noon at the church. There is a potluck and games. Why don’t come out and see what fun we have together.

Hanging of the Greens Service 2013

The Hanging of the Greens Service is planned by the Heritage Christian Women’s Connection group the Dining Diva’s at Heritage Church of God. It requires many hours of planning and decorating our Church. The Service is the so beautiful and always memorable. The true meaning of Christmas is shown to all that attend. In the Church there is a Christmas Tree for prayer requests, a Military Christmas Tree and in the Narthex there is an Angel Christmas Tree that you may choose to help someone in need. We also have a tree that is decorated to represent the Ohio State and Michigan College football teams with a Cross at the top to remind us that Jesus is the reason for the season. If you haven’t attended a Hanging of the Greens Service, you don’t want to miss it this year. If you know of someone on the Dining Diva’s team, tell them what a great job they did.

Heritage Womens Connections Christmas Tea 2013 "Threads of Love"

What a wonderful time we had at the Christmas Tea this year. The theme for the Christmas Tea was “Threads of Love”. Surrounding the walls were beautiful quilts loaned to this event for display. The tables were all beautifully decorated. The food was delicious that was prepared for this event by ladies of the planning committee and served by the “Men in the Kitchen”. The entertainment was singing, comical recitation, Heritage Ringers, and a very moving drama that brought everyone to tears. The final event was the “White Elephant” gift exchange in the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary also had many beautiful quilts on each pew.  If you didn’t come this year you should plan to attend next year. It is an event you will never forget!
